Every round, explained
Every pack follows the same six-round structure, so once you've hosted one you can host them all. Questions pull from six decades of music — the 1950s right through to today's charts — with a mix of easy, medium and hard difficulty in every round.
General Knowledge
A classic mixed-bag round to get everyone settled in. Broad, accessible music questions that don't need specialist knowledge — the perfect opener for teams of any experience level.
Guess The Intro (or Outro)
Teams hear the opening seconds of a track — or, on outro weeks, the closing seconds — and race to name the song and artist before the clip runs out. Which version plays alternates week to week, so it never gets predictable.
Specialist Round
A themed round that changes every pack — think Punk, Songs From Films, Elvis, Novelty Songs, and plenty more. Every pack includes two specialist rounds, so there's always a fresh angle to test the room.
Multiple Choice
The Quizmaster reads a question aloud — with a music clip where the question has one — and every team answers on their own phone. Four options, one answer per team, and the quicker you lock in the right one, the more you score.
The Quizmaster sends the question to every team's phone with four options, A to D. It can also be shown on a separate display screen for the room.
Each team taps one answer. It locks the moment they tap — one answer per team, no changing your mind — and the host sees who's in.
Once everyone's answered, the Quizmaster hits Reveal. Teams that got it right are ranked by how fast they locked in, and each phone shows its place and points.
Two Of Three Rotating Formats
Every pack includes two of the three formats below, so Round 5 keeps changing pack to pack. Whichever two are included, the round is clearly labelled so there's no confusion on the night.
Random — and sometimes deliberately obscure — song clips. Pure fastest-fingers recall.
One song, three different artists' versions. Name the song, and all three artists.
Three lesser-known tracks from one album — name the album and artist. The reveal plays the album's best-known song.
The Table Round
A written round teams fill in as the quiz progresses — up to 20 answers to a single question, such as "name every song on ABBA Gold" or "guess the artist from the pictures given".
The question is set out at the very start of the night, and teams have right up until the end of Round 5 to finish filling it in — no rushing, no separate time slot needed.
Lyric Round
A lyrics-based round is planned for a future update. It's on hold while we finalise a music licensing agreement — details to follow.
